Did you know? Today is Stand Up to Cancer Day. It’s one of the many days devoted to fighting the disease and raising awareness about cancer’s impact on our friends, families, and community. Observed on the second Friday of September, Stand Up to Cancer Day celebrates the one in two men and one in three women who’ll fight cancer personally over their lifetimes.
The Dunstan Group has been privileged to partner up with some serious cancer-fighting folks here in Charlotte! Over the years, these local organizations and events have raised millions of dollars for programs, research, and survivorship. We figure today of all days it’s well worth giving them a shout out:

24 Hours of Booty
Hot off of celebrating its 15th anniversary event, 24 Hours of Booty participants raised more than $1.6 million dollars at the Charlotte event alone! The 24 hour cycling event now hosts events in Columbia, Maryland and Indianapolis, with proceeds benefitting local and national cancer survivorship programs. The Dunstan Group sponsors a cycling team in the Charlotte event, and produces the award-winning fundraising prizes and swag!
Pink to Drink
What started as a neighborhood get-together has grown into a HUGE, fundraising block party that’s led to some seriously big checks going to support 24 Hours of Booty! The Pink to Drink event partners several fundraising “powerhouse” cycling teams and South End’s Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, Sugar Creek Brewing Company, Roots Catering, and Great Wagon Road Distillery, for a one-of-a-kind event. It really IS a good time for a great cause!
Cookies for Kids Cancer
Who doesn’t like cookies, right? These “good cookies” host bake sales, events, 5K runs, and other activities in 5,000 locations in every state and 16 countries, and The Dunstan Group is thrilled to be a part of the process. (Plus, we really like cookies!) Since 2008, Cookies for Kids Cancer has funded 80 childhood cancer research grants, resulting in 32 brand new treatments available to kids today. That’s pretty sweet, if we do say so!
Well done, all! Let’s keep up the momentum and #FightAsOne against cancer!
