Cancer doesn’t play. Chances are we’ve all had the disease touch our lives in some way. Stories of survival and triumph keep hope for the cure alive, as well as fueling unique and creative ways to continue the fight or celebrate the lives it took too soon.
Over the years it’s been our role at The Dunstan Group to help tell stories, build brands, host parties, raise money, and then some for many of Charlotte’s biggest cancer-fighting events. Again this year, we’re humbled to be a part of All-In to Fight Cancer. The Texas Hold ‘Em tournament has raised more than $800,000 to support the local cancer community, patients and families.
One of this year’s All-In beneficiaries is The Isabella Santos Foundation, which celebrates ten years of working to raise awareness and money for Neuroblastoma research and other children’s cancers, with no plans to slow down, it would seem.
“Our goal this year is to do something big for our tenth year anniversary,” said Maitland Danner, director of operations for The Isabella Santos Foundation. “Last year we donated $500,000 dollars… this year, we’d like to raise $1 million.”
Danner said that along with their participation at All-In to Fight Cancer, and their annual 5K/10K run in September, they’ll host even more events, area coffees, and increase their city-wide involvement.
“We plan to host an event in the Lake Norman area, and do some other things to take our brand outside of the Ballantyne area,” added Danner. “We’ll be involved in Taste of Charlotte for a second year, and we’re looking at doing an event in Columbus, Ohio that would be our first out of the Charlotte area.”
Danner says people appreciate that the Isabella Santos Foundation is truly grass roots, very local and entirely homegrown – a great story to come out of Charlotte. And like their 5K and 10K, or All-In to Fight Cancer, Danner said people have high expectations for events that carry the Isabella Santos Foundation label.
“Our supporters and friends like to see our energy and passion – we’re fun – we try to do it with class and great attention to detail,” said Danner. “As we like to say, we always put our ISF touch on it, and try to remember that in everything we do it’s part of Isabella’s legacy.”
Supporting efforts like The Isabella Santos Foundation and All-In to Fight Cancer is part of the legacy we’re building as a business and community partner. From first impressions to ones that last, connect with The Dunstan Group for branded merchandise and apparel with purpose.
