Construction cranes towering hundreds of feet over uptown Charlotte are a good sign – in more ways than one! Obviously, it means something big is being built. It also means our friends and clients at Heede Southeast are right there in the middle of it all.
As we’ve said before, we think it’s a great time to be – and be doing business in Charlotte. Jason Kenna, General Manager at Heede Southeast agrees!

“Right now the construction market is booming,” said Kenna, “we think it will continue for another two to three years… there are a lot of projects on the docket!”
Right now, Heede has cranes at 300 S. Tryon, the Springhill Suites near Time-Warner Cable arena, the new Residence Inn at the Epi-Center, and the Hilton Garden Inn in SouthPark, just to name a few. And Kenna says there are even more in the works.
Heede Southeast is based right here in Charlotte, and is the largest provider of rental cranes in the region. Kenna’s grandfather started the family-owned business in 1962.
“I have been around tower cranes my whole life.” said Kenna. “My father, Dennis Kenna, is the President. My older brother, Michael, is our Vice President and runs our Texas operation.”
Spreading the word and Heede’s brand name is a tall order. Logo’d merchandise and apparel from The Dunstan Group to help them stand out in a busy construction site.
“It is huge… having people on the jobsites wearing our shirts and hats is awesome, and on high-profile jobs, you want to get your name and logo out to as many people as possible. Logo’d apparel is a great way to do that.”

“Relationships are everything to us,” said Kenna. “Over the years, our long-term employees, business partners, and vendors become like family as well. We hold our customers in the highest regard – they’re the reason we’ve been in business for over 50 years.”
